LAI Games To Bring Asphalt 9 Legends Arcade DX Plus To North America

Earlier this week at the AAA Expo 2026 event in China, Wahlap had Asphalt 9 Legends Arcade DX Plus on display for attendees to check out. Now, LAI Games has confirmed that they are bringing this game to North America. Since we’ll be able to enjoy this one here soon, let’s give it another look.

Asphalt 9 Legends Arcade DX Plus Comes West

While we had anticipated that A9DX+ would find it’s way West, the timing of this announcement is a little faster than we had expected. LAI Games had carried this back at the end 2021, releasing it in Premium (non-motion), Deluxe (motion), and in 2023 a VR edition. While we aren’t sure how well it performed in North America, by all accounts I heard it did well; worldwide, it sold over 10,000 combined units, with much of that coming from China. Here’s gameplay from the Premium model:

It should also be noted that LAI Games also has sold Asphalt Moto Blitz DX, a twin model arcade game that offers the Asphalt series with superbikes instead of cars (although there is a mode where you can race your bike against a supercar). As we saw from AAA 2026, that also is receiving a vertical screen Plus update from Wahlap, but the version there was not as complete as 9 Legends and is likely further off from being confirmed for overseas release.

As we recently learned, A9LA would be getting a ‘Plus’ upgrade. In case you missed the trailer for that, this covers the features:

Here’s what four cabinets look like together, per Wahlap’s English flyer (doesn’t have the LAI logo on it, but I imagine LAI will cook one up here soon):

For LAI’s part, it appears that they are bringing over the same game as seen in China this past week. Their target shipping date is September, but that can change depending on various factors. It is listed on their website and they’ve been promoting it on their socials. Gathering everything that we know, here are the features (in case you just want to view these over quickly). The cabinet, being made by Wahlap, shares some things in common with Storm Racer 2:

  • Redesigned cabinet from the A9 originals
  • 85-inch vertical 4K display
  • Motion-base seat with molded carbon fiber chair
  • Surround sound + seat vibration (5.1ch? still checking on this)
  • Force feedback steering; gas/brake metal pedals
  • Wind effects through the control panel
  • Live-action game camera
  • LED lighting animations on the cabinet
  • Link up to 4 cabinets
  • 23 licensed supercars & 22 total tracks
  • Added New York & Scotland tracks
  • “Lamborghini lightbox”
  • Online connectivity for Special Game Events & Global Leaderboards; personal account system
  • Ticket Redemption option
  • Exclusive to arcades

A press release will be sent out later today, which we will post in the PR section of the website here once available.
