No Cyberball in 2073

I found this link (not the pic below) via Kotaku. The Onion is reporting that the “Cyberball Robot Player’s Union Says Lockout Likely in 2073 Season

Oh what ever will we do about not getting our Robot Football next year? I guess there is this which was seen at the London Preview 2010 just the other day:

But it’s just not the same. How do you feel about no Cyberball in 2073? It seems like we’ve been waiting an eternity for that to come along anyways but now it looks like the chances are pretty dire.

(Yes, I know that this is all a joke.)

I never actually have played Cyberball 2072 in arcades although I have played it on the Atari Lynx. It was a cool concept and it’s great to see a site like The Onion paying homage to this almost forgotten game.

Wow, you must have skipped going to arcades in the 80s–every damn one seemed to have a Cyberball machine at one time or another! (The cabs were cool: they had dual monitors, one for each player, though I can’t say I was ever big on the game itself.)

I was a kid through the 80’s and my parents were never ones to take me to the arcade although I did get to visit a couple. But none of the arcades in my area ever had a Cyberball unfortunately.

I was a teenager when this game came out. I loved this game. My and my buddies were the best players in our town. We used all try to save up for the titanium running backs. They were mechanical Bo Jackson’s out there. If you played this game you know what I’m talking about. Yall don’t feel me.
