First Look At The Preliminary Playfield For Dutch Pinball’s The Big Lebowski

As mentioned in a recent post, I am cautiously optimistic about the newcomers to the pinball manufacturing business. I would love to see them get their tables finished and into distribution but until they start shipping, I would refrain from getting too hyped. That being said, it’s good to see progress happening on the development side of things and with newcomer Dutch Pinball, we have a first look since their initial teaser announcement of what they plan on doing for their licensed The Big Lebowski Pinball machine.

As you can see, there is a bit of depth to the upper portion of the playfield with a sizable mini-playfield in the upper right. Most of the toys and features remain unknown but the video focuses on the sub-playfield beneath the game, which has its own bowling alley as a part of the action. While that’s not the first time a playfield has been done under the main field, it is a clever use of the bowling theme that looks like it will prove to be a fun addition to the game. I’ve never seen the idea used in quote that way before.

NOTE on the video here, it does belt out the F word once the neon symbols start to show up so you’ve been warned.
