The qualifiers are past and the date is almost here for the biggest competition in arcade gaming – the annual Big Buck Hunter World Championships. Starting on Friday in Minneapolis, this tournament is promising over $68,000 in cash prizes for the participants ($15,000 going to the tournament champion) and thanks to the live streaming service Twitch, you don’t have to be there to witness the event. Also in Big Buck HD news, a company by the name of Skillz has partnered with Play Mechanix to provide some eSports entertainment on the brand with the Big Buck Hunter phone app. They will also be running a tournament at the BBHWC which is a mobile-only tournament with $1,000 up for grabs to the top player. Overall the integration of mobile and arcades still has a ways to go but this would be the first time I know of such a thing taking place at an arcade tournament like this.
