It’s Friday and that means a new game has been unveiled from UNIS. I haven’t covered all of their releases here since not all have been video-related but today’s game certainly is, so let’s dive in.
2020 was not a great year for releases for obvious reasons but UNIS was one of the few companies to produce something near the end, a driving game for kids called Bigfoot Crush. That used the Bigfoot monster truck license (not the hairy creature of Western American legend), having players drive over cars on their way to the goal.
Now Bigfoot is back but in a much bigger cabinet that certainly fits better with the monster truck aesthetic. As you can see above, it comes with a molded truck back, a motion base, a roll cage and it takes a page from Raw Thrills’ recent Fast & Furious Arcade in using two 65″ screens. Here’s an overview video:
For the gameplay, there are a few different game modes, although it sounds like there are two primary modes then two “bonus modes.” The principal modes are Race Mode and Mayhem Mode, the latter focused on racking “up points like a pro in a thrilling race against time. Three unique stage layouts offer the ultimate challenge, with up to four trucks battling it out in a mere two minutes. Show off your skills with gravity-defying jumps, flips, and unleash your destructive side by obliterating everything in sight. Complete ‘events’ to claim your spot as the undisputed Mayhem champion!”
The “Bonus Modes” are:
- King of the Hill: Dominate the hill for a limited time to earn valuable bonus points
- Capture the Flag: Grab the flag and navigate the chaos without colliding with other players to secure bonus points
Although the email doesn’t mention what it is that triggers them (do they always happen after a race or are a part of it, does it depend on the principal mode, are they really separate game modes?).
The game supports 4 units linked for multiplayer but for pricing you’ll have to contact a UNIS distributor. This will debut at IAAPA 2023 so we’ll find out some of those details above soon enough.
What do you think about this one from what has been shown?
