A few more details on Twisted

GlobalVR has released a few more details on their new racer Twisted, which debuts this Friday at the Distributor Gala in Chicago. According to the flyer, the game will have 5 tracks to race on (which is similar to NASCAR – perhaps they will add more later, as they did with NASCAR) and it can link up to four units. The mini-motion cabinet is a new feature, although motion cabinets by GlobalVR in themselves have been done with their previous racers. While there are only five tracks, it sounds like you can change the type of terrain you race on with each one and they have three track categories: Aerobatics, Jump and Supercross.  You can read the details by clicking on the link below (or the image above) for the flyer.

I have also added Twisted to our Arcade Game Release list for 2009.

Ya know, I remember a time (I think it was called “the 80s”) when you could do into an arcade and actually play a new game that wasn’t a racer/fighter/gun game :'(

thats not always a bad thing. but from the look of this game its deffinatly a “seen it, played it, tried it, nothing new”. I have alot of ideas for arcade games that I really want to design and its sothing I’ve been wanting to do for the last 11 years and all I’ve been doing is jotting down ideas on A4 per game idea. unfortunatly I’ll be at uni for 2 years 🙁
damm I have so many ideas and there’s quite a few unique ones too.
when I finish uni I plan on coming up with the ideas and presenting them to companies. thats my dream job and I will do it no matter what people tell me and say to me, don’t worry 🙂

I remember that time too. I still think it could be done in arcades but that “Trinity of Safety” will probably stick around forever. You just need the right game(s) to break the mold – heck even one awesome title could change everything but will anyone try that?
