AOU is just a couple of days away where we will see some new arcade products in Japan but when it comes to games that intended more for a Western release, the Amusement Expo in March is where we go to for information on that front. Until today there had been zero word out there regarding what we might expect to see down in Las Vegas this year but as you already now know from the title of this post, one new game we know about is the next installment of the popular Big Buck Hunter series.
Raw Thrills is holding a two hour invitation-only launch event for the new game, called Big Buck HD on March 13th. Aside from the name, that is all that has been revealed about the game for now but it will also be playable at the Amusement Expo show on March 14th-16th. The Big Buck series has been one of the best-selling coin-op video games on the market this past decade and with this new one I’m sure they will have taken aspects that worked in the previous Buck games and perhaps thrown in a few new ideas. I also wonder that with the name “Big Buck HD” if they will be ditching the CRT style cabinet that has been one of the available models up to Big Buck World, and instead sticking with just LCD. That is all my speculation at this point so we’ll just have to wait and see.
Whether yours truly will make it to the event, I’m not 100% sure yet – after having to move my arcade in January it’s made finances very tight but I will see what I can do as Vegas isn’t terribly far from me so usually it’s doable.
no more hunting games. give us more racing games, please!
Damn straight, I agree!!
