Dave & Busters To Launch Their ‘Store of the Future’ Format In Dallas This February

Dave & Busters has been a leader in the arcade industry for a long time, and now they are upping their game with a format they are calling the “Store of the Future.” This was prototyped at their Friendswood, TX location last year, so after finding success there, they will be rolling it out to other select locations, starting with Dallas, on February 9th.

Aside from revamping their food menu, they have also changed up their sports viewing areas to be more interactive and they have new “social bay” gaming areas which includes activities such as darts & shuffleboard. I believe that the darts system used here is the SMARTS Darts system that is sold through Sega Amusements; At least from this picture on the right, it looks just like that one does.

The newest concept of the bunch however is The Arena, which sounds sort of like Inowize’s QBIX, but perhaps its a free roam VR experience. I’m not sure as the release below doesn’t mention VR as a part of that, and there is no picture of it in action. This does mark an exclusive experience to be found at D&B however, so it should be interesting to see more when the location opens.

The release does not mention which precise locations will get this makeover, although I imagine that if your local D&B closes for “renovations,” then that’s a pretty good sign they are converting it over. For the grand re-opening of this one though, if you live in the area you’ll want to get in the door as soon as is possible – they are giving the first 200 customers an entire year of free game play. That alone would be worth the visit.
