When the Trocadero in London got their hands on Taito’s light-gun based sequel to their Elevator Action series, Elevator Action: Death Parade, it appeared that the game was going to be making a debut everywhere else. But time passed and nothing happened in regards to the game – until EAG 2011. As we found out from Heavy Electricity’s EAG 2011 video below, UK based distributor Electrocoin has the game at their EAG booth and will be distributing the game in Europe and I received this message from BMI Gaming this morning in regards to a US release:
For immediate release – Elevator Action Death Parade now available in the USA direct from Taito via BMIGaming.com. Price estimated to be $11975 + shipping (FOB Yokohama, Japan)
So it appears that the game showing up on out GOTY 2010 list for last year was a little premature but with the game now receiving distribution in channels outside of Japan, you might just come across one in an arcade or other venue near you sometime this year.
If you want to see Elevator Action: Death Parade in action at EAG then check out HeavyElectricity’s EAG 2011 video post. EA:DP is about 5:22 in, right after SSFIV AE. I have also added this game to the released category on our New Games watch list.
I’m no expert as I don’t run an arcade or any business but I think $11975 for elivator action death parade is quite cheap, especially when you take into account with the elivator doors and top screen above when the elivator doors close and its a very large tall cabinet too. I hope I find it this year when I go on holiday or even better at my local hollywood bowl 😀
I’ve been feeling like they are ‘Not so much my cup of tea’ these days. And by that i mean arcades. And by that I mean I don’t go to any arcades anymore, but after seeing a few of the articles here, maybe, just maybe I think I might..,probably.., yes .. I will ! <– OOoooh
We will have a full HD quality “walkthrough” of Elevator Action Death Parade from the EAG show floor on our YouTube Channel sometime
early to mid next week (1/31-2/3), and we are now accepting orders for this machine as well at $11975 + shipping (Lead time 8-12 weeks, FOB, Yokohama, Japan)
This currently at Round 1. It gets a lot of attention. However, I thought this title was release a few years ago.
It was released in Japan in 09 I believe but a full international release has been teetering back and forth until now.
