The arcade business generally has some event held in Las Vegas every year, such as the Amusement Expo in March. This year AE skipped Vegas for Dallas so it was looking like the city wouldn’t get that action this year but as the choice of Play Mechanix would have it, the city has been selected to host this year’s Big Buck Hunter World Championship. The tournament has been to various cities including Austin, TX; Chicago, IL, Minneapolis, MN and others. Before mentioning the location, they have put together this video that shows their location scouting:
Qualifiers for the Championship begin on May 1st and will run through the Summer. Like before, the more you play, the higher up you’ll get on the bracket. You also can participate by playing on any online-enabled Big Buck HD/Wild machine. A prize pot amount hasn’t been announced yet but if it is anything like last year then expect something in the area of $100k. We also can expect it to be broadcast live on Twitch.
The Ladies Tournament round of the Championship will take place on October 27th with the main event going down on the 28th. Good luck to everyone who competes!
