Rashlander Arcade Orders Now Open

Not long ago we found out about a new game for the Airframe JAMMA arcade platform, designed by Griffin Aerotech and launched with the horizontally scrolling shmup Skycurser. Called Rashlander, this gravity-based game is another indie created effort that will expand the Airframe library to two titles.

Today, Griffin Aerotech sent out an email for “Cyber Monday” (as they are offering Airframe kits for a lower price today) stating the following:

We’re excited to announce RASHLANDER, a brand-new arcade game from Ryan Davis made especially for Airframe. We love it. And, we know arcade gamers will get a kick out of the stylish graphics, deep gameplay and rewarding difficulty. Click the video above or follow this link!

RASHLANDER is designed for JAMMA compatible arcade cabinets and will ship as a Pro Kit and a Deluxe Kit for Airframe. Airframe is sold separately for $649.

We’re targeting a January 2018 release date and a pre-order price of $250!

Reserving a copy puts your name on a new email contact list. You may cancel your reservation at any time. The final MSRP of RASHLANDER has not been confirmed.

You can place your order by sending an email to devATskycurser.com, just replace the at 😉

As we’ve mentioned before, kits have become a bit of a rarity, especially kits with easily swappable software (and JAMMA compatible). Hopefully even more games will become available for Airframe in 2018. Here’s a trailer for Rashlander; what do you also hope to see grace the platform?

I remember the old trailer, and I think they improved the graphics of the gravity fields. Now it’s looking good.

Sorry in advance if I missed this in the article, but will there be a dedicated cabinet? It sounds like there won’t be one, at least right now. Or do you buy another Airframe cab and apply the Rashlander cabinet art to make your own “dedicated cabinet”? The wording didn’t seem to allow for a dedicated cab, so I was just checking.

Hey Dustin! A dedicated cabinet is definitely something we want. The email sent out on Cyber Monday was to get things moving on the sales/hardware side, so it was just the simplest setup on offer. More details will come as soon as we know them.

That’s good to know. I’ve been hype for Rashlander since the day it first popped up here on Arcade Heroes.
