Andamiro Launches Pump It Up Phoenix 2 To Arcades

We’re just a few days past the middle of the year, which is as good a time as any for a new arcade release. This comes to us from Andamiro, who is releasing their new Pump It Up Phoenix 2 2026 in South Korea tomorrow on the 9th, while the US version will be landing on the 20th of this month. Let’s see what this new rendition of Andamiro’s signature rhythm game has in store for locations.

Pump It Up Phoenix 2 Details

The Pump It Up series got started way back in 1999, where it established itself as a strong player in Korea and Latin America. While some other rhythm dance games stopped officially showing up in North America, PIU kept soldiering on, often being the only rhythm game we’d see at shows like IAAPA or AEI. The Phoenix Edition of the game first hit the scene in 2023, and Andamiro has kept it refreshed with software updates, both minor and major, up to now.

Phoenix 2 is the eighteenth version of PIU, continuing to build upon the other editions with new music, ratings, UI changes, a new Rival mode, and more, while introducing new step chart integration with the PC version of the game, Pump It Up R!se. Per the press release:

The new arcade software introduces a dual-mode system that allows players to move between traditional arcade play and R!SE-linked content. By connecting with Steam, players can access original tracks exclusive to R!SE and enjoy additional charts designed to bring new variety to the arcade experience. The integration creates a stronger bridge between Pump It Up’s arcade roots and its newest home-platform expansion, giving players more ways to engage with the franchise across locations and devices.

Here’s the official trailer, which focuses mostly on the new Original/K-Pop/World Music tracks that are being added to the game:

Now for stuff that may be more of interest to arcade operators. Here’s the game in the LX cabinet design(available in both white & black color schemes); operators can order an SSD upgrade kit from their preferred Andamiro distributor for existing Phoenix cabinets, while it is also compatible on “CX, TX and FX versions” of the Pump It Up cabinet, although that will require a different update kit. While it doesn’t ship in the US until the 20th, interested parties can already place an order:

Here’s an important note regarding the online features:

In connection with the PHOENIX 2 rollout, Andamiro will eventually take the original Phoenix game server offline. The company will announce the server shutdown date separately, giving operators and players advance notice before the transition, and legacy Phoenix systems will remain playable locally after server support ends.

Andamiro will certainly be promoting this at upcoming shows like IAAPA, although it should be available at plenty of locations before then. I’m not sure what the pricing is (it’ll vary between distros anyways), and it should be interesting to see if the R!SE integration helps earnings.

What do you think about the latest iteration of Pump It Up!?
