I wasn’t expecting much news to come along this week although we have been surprised before with new games testing in Japan. Here is a quick note about a new FEC opening in Ft. Myers, FL, a growing chain by the name of GameTime.
This article at news-press.com details the upcoming location, comparing it to the larger game chain of Dave & Busters. From looking at the pictures in that article, some of the games I noticed include: Deadstorm Pirates, Dirty Drivin’, Fast and Furious Super Cars, Fishbowl Frenzy (videmption), Grand Piano Keys (videmption), Gridiron Blitz (videmption), Harley Davidson King of the Road (the lesser known 2009 HD), Indy 500 (6 player), Let’s Go Island, Let’s Go Jungle, Pac-Man Battle Royale, Red Cup Challenge (formerly Beer Pong Master by Baytek; videmption); Subway Surfers (videmption), Super Bikes 2, Terminator Salvation and more. There is a lot of mechanical redemption available to shore up that segment of entertainment, along with bowling and food. At 22,000 sq. ft., they have plenty of space to entertain and have hired 65 people to operate the facility.
An exact date isn’t given for the grand opening but I have to imagine it will be ASAP…opening right on Christmas probably wouldn’t work out too well. Any day before Christmas Eve while people are out shopping on the other hand, that could be a bonus. They likely have permits or something else to sort out first and those are often outside of one’s direct control. Either way, good luck to the new GameTime and give them a visit if you are in the area!
