We first learned about Mario & Sonic At The Rio 2016 Olympic Games Arcade Edition last year thanks to the first Japanese location tests a year ago. Since then, it has been a patient process in waiting for new details and media. We got our hands on it at the IAAPA 2015 trade show and while it was supposed to have been launched in February 2016, some delays pushed it back to May/June. Either way, the game is out there at select locations so perhaps you’ve played it already but if not, Sega has finally released an official trailer to promote the game and its features.
As is common for the arcade industry, this is tailored more towards operators that would buy one instead of the end player although for those gamers, you can get a feel for how different this is than the home versions that are available for the Nintendo 3DS and WiiU. Particularly thanks to the hardware, which stands out by using a unique dual joystick/footpad setup.
Next trailer we’re looking forward to from Sega – Luigi’s Mansion Arcade, which should begin shipping any time now.
